Pipapop Records is an independent record label founded in Venice in 2016, born from the meeting of musicians and artists connected to the underground scenes of Venice, Assisi and Paris.
The name Pipapop comes from the Pi-Pa Pop posters, lithographic prints created in 1968 by German artist, photographer and writer Lothar-Günther Buchheim.
From the very beginning, the idea was simple: to create a space where music could be released in complete freedom, without artistic or commercial constraints. Rather than a traditional record label, Pipapop grew as a small family of musicians and friends, built around shared experiences, mutual support, and the simple pleasure of making new music happen and helping it find its way into the world.
From that same spirit came Pipapop Corn in 2018, the label’s recurring compilation: a project created to bring together artists, friends and new discoveries, connecting music and people from different places and different paths.
Pipapop was born from the ideas and friendship of six people, musicians but, above all, friends: Alessandro Antonel (Capitano Merletti), Marco Zuccaro (Charles Wallace), Manuel Baldassarre, Emma Grace and Victor Antoniciuc (Cosmic Bloom), and Jacopo Mazzer (Dnezzar).
